NATIONALS Trade Block

Updated, please use this a measure to gauge the type of package it would take for players I may be looking to deal. Even if it says "untouchable", I may be looking to deal them, and those players are highlighted below.

CI: Derrek Lee - Lee's one of my RFAs. I'm willing to take a decent prospect for him if you envision you might want to match the bid.

DH: David Ortiz - Also a RFA, I'm more likely to keep him, but willing to listen for sure.

SP: Cole Hamels, Ricky Nolasco, Anibal Sanchez - Since they are all FAs at the end of the 2011 season, I imagine moving at least one of them for a protected SP. All three of these guys put up excellent numbers and will cost a substantial amount (Hamels more than Nolasco, Nolasco more than Sanchez, though).

CL: Jose Valverde, Jonathan Papelbon (FT) - Similar to the SPs, would be looking to package one with a good, young player to get a good, young, and protected closer.

RP: Sean Marshall (FT), Sean Burnett - Again, I love their protection but have to listen since they will both be FAs after 2011.

I'm basically willing to listen to any kind of deal that will save me money and add protection years. As a result, it will be next to impossible to move any of the cheap, protected, young, and developing stars.

Looking for SP?

I'm currently shopping the following players, and am looking for prospects primarily in return.

SP: Ervin Santana (LAA) - 12:$11,200,000 - Most available due to price, but actually a bargain given last year's statistics. Will still command quite a lot and given the Angels' addition of Pujols, a few more wins should be in order.

SP: Anibal Sanchez (MIA) - 12:$6,000,000 (est.) (FRANCHISE TAG) - Will require a large haul but making available due to free agent status after next year. Over 200 Ks, it will cost you in a seller's market.

SP: Jeff Locke (PIT) - $1,000,000 - The most available of all three, Locke will cost an average prospect; just looking to move him and shake the team up some. Should get starts with the Pirates and has #3 upside.

With two weeks until the trade deadline, I'm looking to make some substantial changes and re-tool for the playoff run. There are only a few players I will absolutely not trade, and those are Dustin Pedroia, Giancarlo Stanton, and Kenley Jansen. With that said, the likes of Prince Fielder, Hanley Ramirez, Ryan Zimmerman are difficult to get, but can be acquired if I receive significantly younger/cheaper players at the same positions who are budding stars. If you want proven commodities, make a play for them. Likewise, young/hyped players that are currently struggling/injured, such as Desmond Jennings, Brandon Beachy, Wilson Ramos are extremely tough to get as well as I don't want to sell low on them. On the prospect front, only Oscar Taveras is absolutely untouchable, but others will be tough to pry for sure. With that, here's a review of the rest of my players and the price.

Hitters:

C: Jarrod Saltalamacchia - will move for young catcher who may be struggling but offers promise.
CI: Todd Frazier - like what he brings to the table a lot and as a future replacement for Scott Rolen, and current a mainstay in my lineup. Will listen, however, I need MLB players back.
OF: Daniel Nava - available, will listen.
OF: Gregor Blanco, OF Jordan Schafer, MI/CI: Cody Ransom - all readily available, flexible for return.

Starting Pitchers: I want to shake up the staff and get some new names in here.

SP: Andy Pettitte - Probably more valuable to hold onto him.
SP: Josh Beckett - I want a cheaper SP. Lots of potential still here.
SP: Ian Kennedy - Would demand high return.
SP: Anibal Sanchez, SP: Jaime Garcia, SP: Trevor Cahill - Let's talk. Want younger/cheaper current SP.
SP: Jacob Turner, SP Drew Pomeranz - Potential aces/number two types. Would need sure thing.
SP: Jhoulys Chacin, SP: Christian Friedrich - Young and tantalizing, let's talk.
SP: Daisuke Matsuzaka - Readily available.

Relief Pitchers:

I like my holds guys. Willing to hear on most though. Devine readily available. Villareal/Ogando very tough, Marshall/Belisario/Miller tough, H-Rod/Diekman tough since they offer potential and protection, Affeldt solid for me too. BUT I NEED SAVES.
