Time to add the DH/third OF?

I've always been for this and would prefer to add it in right away. I see the points about this being an unplanned for addition, but I think it's interesting to have to react to these changes as well. It's not like we won't be able to react in general free agency. If you want to clear cap space to take on a big bat, do so via trade. It's more opportunity for creativity as a GM.

Who knows what if anything we're going to get out of RL baseball this year. Those RL GM's are going to have to scramble to cover things like, hmmm the DH being added to their roster without any concrete pre-planning? Likely more than that. Bonus playoff slots in RL, that changes things. This may be implemented this year as well. I'm not advocating that here, btw.

If oposition is overwhelming to adding an OF this year (I frankly have little sympathy for this position), then for sure it should go in next year.

If we’re debating actual DH versus utility, I’m very pro utility. We need to give ourselves flexibility because we don’t actually control real roster decisions.
