Final trade block update - breaking down the guys available into hitting/pitching rentals + pitchers with control. 

Looking to move every hitter if possible and more likely than not pair them with some of my pitching.

Hitting Rentals

OF - Rob Refsnyder - BOS (24)1.02M, (15)FA ==> easily my top available hitter. .300/.385/.463 on the season and absolutely crushes lefties (.318/.426/.529). Should get a ton of ABs down the stretch with the Red Sox. 

CI - Ty France - CIN - (24)6.775M (5/5 PP) ==> France should have an opportunity to get reps in CIN the rest of the season and the move from T Mobile to Great American should be helpful the next two months

MI/CI - Brandon Drury - LAA - (24)8.5M, (25)FA ==> having an objectively terrible season but he's CI/MI eligible and getting ABs with LAA so 🤷 happy to include him in any deal for salary purposes

MI/CI - Nicky Lopez - CHW - (24)1.56M, (25)FA ==> cheaper version of Drury. Can be a throw in with any other deal. 

C - Jacob Stallings - COL - (24)1.02M, (25)FA - want a cheap backup catcher with a 117 OPS+? Stallings is your guy



Pitching Rentals

(100% must move)


SP - Michael Lorenzen - KC - (24)1M, (25)FA ==> Moved to the Royals over the deadline and was confirmed to have a spot in the rotation moving forward. Should get continued play and more W opportunities building on 101.2 IP and a 3.81 ERA to date. 

SP - Alex Cobb - CLE - (24)9.04M, (25)FA ==> Just traded to the Guardians and should be back after one more rehab start. When he's healthy he'll get you solid innings/K's. Can take on similar/larger salary coming back to make it work.

Pitching with Control

(In reverse order of how much I value them)

SP - Chris Flexen - CHW - (24)1.5M, (25)2.5M, (26)3M, (27)1.88M, (28)FA ==> Having a meh season with the Sox (5.08 ERA in 85 IP) and it wouldn't take much for me to move him.

SP - Cal Quantrill - COL - (24)2M, (25)2M, (26)2M, (27)2.04M, (28)FA ==> Quantrill is flying under the radar with a 3.73 ERA in 100 IP for the Rockies (remember ~half of those innings coming at Coors). 


SP - Carlos Rodon - NYY - (24)23M, (25)21M, (26)21M, (27)21M, (28)21.72M, (29)FA ==> Rodon has shown flashes of brilliance through his wildly inconsistent season (4.34 ERA, 129 K's). If I move Rodon it would probably be for a similar contract/skill level situation for a veteran hitter.


SP - Erick Fedde - STL - (24)3.52M, (25)7M, (26)FA ==> Traded from CHW to STL where he should get a lot more W opportunities to build upon his great category rate stats since coming back from the KBO (3.13 ERA, 1.12 WHIP) 


SP - Kutter Crawford - BOS - (24)740K (3/5 PP) ==> Has a 3.47 ERA and 102 K's through 98 IP, and that comes with 2.5 years of cheap control. Not especially looking to move Crawford but open to it for the right package.

SP - Michael King - SDP - (24)3.15M (4/5 PP) ==> Quality (3.51 ERA) strikeout machine with 120 already on the season. Likely holding onto him but open to any ideas.

SP - Seth Lugo - KC - (24)5.04M, (25)8M, (26)FA ==> it would take a hall for me to move Lugo ... he's leading the league with a 2.12 ERA, is on track for a Top 3 AL Cy Young finish, and is an absolute bargain at 8M in 2025.
