Am I rebuilding? Sure, of course. But if you're going to part with a big package of prospects, you do it for hitters like Alvarez. I'm not keen on moving Mayer, but he's an elite prospect and you have to give them up to acquire hitters like Alvarez. The other three prospects all have something that will make them good (Simpson's speed, Bruns' stuff, Cross' hitting), and it's not easy to give them up, but again - I'm trying to get ahead of the FA market this offseason. Easy talks with A's, thanks again.

A's confirm. I really thought I had a chance with rock solid pitching and good hitting to make a mark year one. Losing Cole, Bradish, and Senga before opening day left me chasing players all season. Finally decided it was time to reboot. Would have loved to keep Alvarez but after throwing his name out the offers came in and I really liked Ethan's. Mayer is the prize but all 4 have tremendous potential. Hoping sometime down the line between Hamilton and Simpson I can punt SB's with all of my other hitters. Good negotiations as always, good luck Ethan!
