after FA BIDS and DRAFT

I would like to see a start date and a end date....maybe 30 days...that you can pick up ANY remaining players and have 1 year contracts at the league minimum.....the first 10 days...would be for NEW TEAMS ONLY...then after 10 days...ANY owner can pick up who they want for 20 days...THEN after that 30 days is up..they have to be put up for bid and they can have as long as contracts at whatever price you want.

This will help new teams strengthen the team they inherit and allow their farm to develop better to be competitive in a few years with at least THEIR players...instead of relying on players someone else chooses.

This is in the TRUE interest of PARODY and fair play.......if I made the rule alone...it would be everyone for themselves or open FA pick ups after the draft was done after a 7 day period til the trade deadline..lol, FYI.

another reason is, I bid on so many FA's because I would rather have to give them up then miss out on them because of not sure how the system works completely yet at the time of my first FA bids....now I see I would have left more room on my roster for after the draft FA....advantage veterans again.

cool by me...just throwing out ideas that would create parody for the league and give new teams a chance...I am fine either way.

This section was labeled 'suggestions" so this is where I will continue to put ideas.

As a new player I see the difficulties because often the team you are left with is not in a good place (for example the previous owner of the Indians had little prospect knowledge). But I think the current system is fair because if you know the correct value you will get your players. It is up to new players to evaluate talent in their own way. A free add period encourages non-talent evaluation behavior (like being up at the starting time) and can really skew things the other way for a new team that knows their prospects.

PS...I am a new player to this league also, lol....I sorta agree with you indians. Although it does help the new teams. The veteran teams have pretty stacked teams from starters to minor leagues and if you do it after the FA bids and the draft...then not only did they have a chance at players in previous years...they have another chance with the draft...they had plenty of opportunities to get the players that would be available for a new team to get to for the first time..mainly to rebuild their prospects. They wouldn't be picking good players, they were in the FA bids...They wouldn't be picking the top 90 players available and taken in the 3 round draft....they would be picking from players nobody wanted already.

Indians,

If a new team is a bad talent evaluator, how would they screw things up for the good talent evaluators?

During the "free pick up period" they would be picking up players that the good talent evaluators didn't take or bid on the year before anyways? right? then putting good talent (if they release players) out for everyone to bid on instead of letting them get stolen in trades by veteran teams, thus another reason the veto committee wouldn't be needed.

it would make more sense to revise this idea.....

10 days after the FA positional and 3 round draft takes place.......only before the open FA bids take place...that is more than fair.

It should be only to help new teams for 1st season only. Sorry but it is a very good idea. Its a way to give less "control" to the veto committee and allow a veto committee to address what it was originally intended for and allows new owners to build the type of team they want without making trades to get rid of players they don't want but until they understand what players are valuable, they could be trading away better players than they realize. (and no Heredia isn't one of them,lol)
