I'd prefer to keep it at 1 x Franchise Tag & 1 x Restricted Tag, for two reasons-
1. It means that GM's need to make choices between players, who get the FT 2. It keeps Restricted Free Agency alive, together with the compensation picks

Agree with this.
With RFA, did we want to do away with surrendering draft picks and simply reward compensation picks ($10M+ AAS guys give other teams pick b/w 1st and 2nd, less than that b/w 2nd and 3rd?)

With flex tags the restricted would still be as valuable as the franchise to my way of thinking, though of course each is situational. I don't think going all flex would necessarily be the death of RFA.

I am anti-flex pick as well and like the current draft pick compensation!

I agree with Hollar and Amy that RFA would not die. I love the RFA tag and think it's not infrequently BETTER than a Franchise tag. That said, I like the restriction of having one of each, because as others have said, it forces choices and keeps things in balance. I'd be opposed to going to 2 flex tags.
As for compensation, can you clarify what you're suggesting PB?

Just like RL, I think the teams need to surrender their own picks when signing RFAs. If you dont have to lose a pick it drives the prices up even more for RFAs as more people would be willing to bid on them. A lot of rules and moves are instituted here based off it being close to RL, so def against teams having to give up a pick if they sign a RFA.
I also would be against an all Flex Tag switch. One of each makes people make harder decisions.
