picking up players on Fantrax

there should be a 14 day, 30 day or at least 60 day rule that if you don't pick up your player on Fantrax, they become a FA again.

7 days is ideal
14 days is very reasonable
30 days is more than fair
60 days is a terrible amount of time

My suggestion is that all drafted players should be added to rosters by the CO. After that all teams have 1-2 weeks to align their rosters, any player not picked up will be declared a free agent and their original team will be penalized as if they cut them

I know it is a burden on someone but something I have seen elsewhere is that someone's job to process trades and FA in Fantrax

I don't think it should be the CO's responsibility, the owner doesn't pick up his player it should be his fault he goes back to FA not the CO if he misses a player.

I think the Indians were only referring to the drafted players. I know Victor does this in his Moneyball league and it works great there. Throughout the year at least though it should be owner responsibility. I'd favor 30 days. I missed the deadline once myself. I forgot, lost a player and it sucked, but it was the right thing and I'd favor it here as well. Another thing that works well in Victor's league in this vein is that trades don't even go to the trade committee until they've been accepted by both parties on Fantrax. I'd like to see that one here in PB's as well.

That would be my suggestion, they should be added to rosters given there is no precedent here, especially since many of them were autodrafted and some for teams in ownership changes
