Above is the seeding breakdown for the 2014 playoffs. Congrats again.
I have not been able to find any discussion on the actual payout breakdown for this year. If someone has found it, please respond to this thread with a link. If it has not been accomplished, we definitely need to discuss it right away.

I checked the treasurer account and there is $520.05 in total prize money.

After the division champs are paid for that leaves 370 to divide between the WS champ and runner up.

Is that how it works? I thought division champs got a free pass for the next year, not $25 cash. And if that is the case, I'd suggest there is plenty of room to expand the free pass to the final four and not just the WS participants. That would give a range of free passes from 6 division winners to ten (if by some miracle the last 4 standing were wild card teams). Then the cash proze pool would be split between champ and runner-up. This amount would change each year due to numbe rof free passes and extra entry fees when a team is taken over mid-year (ala the braves this year). I'd suggest something like this:

Champ - $370 + free entry
Runner-Up - $150 + free entry
Division Winners and Final Four - free entry (1 free entry per team of course)

This sets us up for next year as such (using 8 free entries as an example):

22 entries * $25 = $550 - $80 league fee = $470 pool + any additional midseason entry fees or adjustments to free entries.

My main question is why happens when a division winner is also one of the final four? Like my team this year?

Do I get a free entry next year and $25 payout in addition to my free entry?

that system can fluxuate year to year the amounts because division winners sometimes would be final four(could be 8 free entries one year then maybe 6 the next), etc, the amount of "free entries" would change year to year and then so would amounts paid out. make it clean, straight and consistant.

30 teams at $25...(750)

12 playoff teams - free entrée or $25 (300)
6 division teams - +20 (120)
4 AL/NLCS teams - +20 (80)
2 WS teams - +75 (150)
1 Champ + 100 (100)
equals (750)

or

12 playoff teams - free entrée or $25 (300)
6 division teams - +20 (120)
4 AL/NLCS teams - +30 (120)
2 WS teams - +55 (110)
1 Champ +100 (100)
equals (750)
etc.

or a similar breakdown and you can even adjust these numbers.... The champ gets $220 and maybe $240 if he wins his division, every year unless the entre fee changes. Just nail it down once and be done with it, so it doesn't ever have to be revisited.
