Looking back, most of my 21 trades turned out pretty well for both sides. These two stick out though, even though neither was truly lopsided. The worst part is I was on the losing end of the Franklin trade. And then my dumb ass ended up non-tendering Logan Forsythe in my best trade, who ended up beating out Franklin for a job.
Worst Rockies trade:
MI Nick Franklin - $0.5M (2/5) CI Patrick Leonard - $1.25M (MiLB)
Cubs trade:
MI Tommy La Stella - $0.5M (2/5) P Boone Logan - 2015: $1.75M; 2016 - $1.75M P Carson Smith - $0.5M (1/5) P Armando Rivero - $0.5M (MiLB)
Best CI/OF - Steve Pearce -$610,000 (2015-2016) RP - Brad Boxberger - $500,000 (PP 2018) MI - Logan Forsythe - $510,000 (2015) SP - Felipe Paulino - $700,000 (2015)
Cubs trade -
SP - Brian Johnson - minor leaguer ($500,000) SP - Lewis Thorpe - minor leaguer ($500,000) OF - Phil Ervin - minor leaguer ($500,000) OF - Dariel Alvarez - minor leaguer ($1,000,000)

Best - Rays trade - Mat Latos Giants trade- Mallex Smith JaCody Jones Andrew Velazquez Travis Shaw
Not just did I move some salary in the deal, but I got Mallex Smith who I still believe will be a serious player, and Travis Shaw who had a great 2015.
Worst trade- The one with the Cubs listed earlier. I was about to cut Forsythe, who ended up being the best player in 2015 in the deal, and it was only my insistence that he was added to the deal (stupid me). I knew Boxberger was good but valued Johnson, Thorpe & Ervin particularly high. I'm still big on Johnson & Thope, and at least on-trading some of these guys landed me Kershaw.

2015 was pretty good for Rockies trades. I had that one mentioned already by the Cubs, but that's not even my best one:
--Best-- O's trade...
CI Greg Bird P Robbie Ross Jr. OF Billy Burns
Rockies trade...
P Robby Erlin P Randall Delgado P Zach Lee OF Cord Sandberg
Burns was pretty much a throw-in flier for steals if he ever got the chance. He exceeded all reasonable expectations last year. I don't think Sickels even had him as a C+ in 2015. Bird really helped me down the stretch, and hopefully rebounds next year from the injury he sustained in spring training. Subsequently,
--Worst-- The Chicago White Sox send:
OF: Will Venable (SD) CI/OF Allen Craig BOS
to the Rockies for:
OF: Dexter Fowler
So, this wasn't great. Venable and Craig both ended up cut before the end of the season. Meanwhile, I traded Fowler because of his contact, and it turns out I probably could have afforded him through the length of the contact, and he definitely could have helped.

Best:
I am tempted to go with the pair of salary dump trades at the end that allowed me to sign Altherr and Givens, but I will go with. Giants trade: C Francisco Cervelli (PIT) - 15: $1.52M, 16: FA
Indians trade: P Michael Feliz (HOU) - $1M (PP 1/5)
Feliz looks like a reliever at this point, and Cervelli helped get me close to postseason. Since I had my franchise tag it ended up netting me a decent catcher on a 1yr $3.5M deal in the process.
Worst:
This one is easy
Cubs Trade:
CI: Pablo Sandoval - 2015:$11M 16:$12 17:$15 18: FA Indians Trade:
RP: Fernando Rodney (SEA) with Franchise Tag - 2015:$7M 2016: FA C: Victor Caratini (CHC) 1M (PP 0/5)
I had no one to franchise so trading Rodney with the Tag was a no brainer as was trading Caratini who has looked bad. That being said, I thought Sandoval would thrive in Boston and solidify CI for me next to Goldschmidt, instead that contract is a drag on my team.
