Enjoyed, per usual. A few notes, for your amusement. I looked, and believe I have 1 person on my roster who was acquired before last year trade deadline season. That is James Paxton, who I got before the season... I do intend on keeping Darvish, but I also intended on keeping deGrom and that didn't last very long, so I wouldn't trust me. Another interesting factor for rfa bidding is to drive up players prices so that the owners don't get them for super cheap, hence my Andrew Miller bid. I didn't think I'd win him with 4/48, but wanted to make sure the owner had to commit to him a decent amount or lose him to my team. Also, tried to scare Das out of Turner with those 5 years, clearly didn't work.

Another great podcast.
To chime in with my strategy for RFA (and I suppose in general), which seems to be a bit different. I only bid for reasonable contracts, because I want the league to be filled with contracts that are appealing, allowing more teams to be competitive. To me, the thinking of, I want to try and screw someone else over, is a root to a far greater problem in society (especially considering how competitive we as humans are by nature), but that isn't for here. However, if I were to act in that manner, even in fantasy baseball, I would have to consider what I know about how the universe works and go from there. If it's good for the betterment of all, then it's good for me. Plus, if I do win a player and have to give up a draft pick, I want it to be for a contract I want, not just for the player I want.
I liked the offer the White Sox sent on Justin Turner, in a sense it worked for them, because I didn't want to get stuck buying out his contract after having to release him once he gets hurt for good and falls off the proverbial cliff.
