2022 Prospect Rankings

[Rockies GM (Dan)]

People asked for it back, so here it is. I'm not going to put blurbs after, with sleepers or anything, because apparently it caused issues with certain owners. For said people, I offered on Discord to only do the top 15 systems, and everyone who responded wanted to see all 30 teams. Someone has to be in the bottom 10, it's not personal. I don't hate your team or your prospect system. I'm not trying to make it more difficult for you to trade your players.

Speaking of which, PLEASE do not use these as a way to scout prospects for trade. Or at least as the primary scouting tool. I am not a scout, I'm just an guy that spends way too much time looking at prospect reports online.

Top 10 is a grading of players 6-10, rather than a full picture of 1-10. Depth is a grade for the system after the top 10

You were a hard one to rank. You have the best prospect in baseball, but fall off pretty fast. But you also have decent depth.

fyi, Drew Romo 76/100 is ranked in the top 100 ahead of your 3rd place guy, Brayan Rocchio 85/100, owen white 94/100 and Peter Crow Armstong 77/100 to name a few and yes MLB is more credible than you www.mlb.com/prospects/top100/. I am ecstatic he is my worst player. Defense and speed (oh hitting at Coors) at the catcher spot, yeah he will have a problem making a career in MLB.

#1 - I've said nothing to you since returning to this league. I don't know what sparked this new attack.

#2 - This was done preseason, using preseason rankings. Romo's breakout couldn't have been accounted for, since it primarily happened this year. He's a nice prospect.

#3 - I never claimed to be ranking these prospects of my own accord. I'm not a scout. I've actually shown several owners how I take various prospect rankings, take the mean rankings, weighed equally, and Excel computes from there. Fwiw, MLB's list also takes things like defense into equation and doesn't account for fantasy production, like other high-profile rankings do.

I,ve had my share of run ins with the Rockies myself.

But I do enjoy the analytical reporting Dan does. Dan has regularly said he uses information from various sources to help generate these reports/rankings along with a some of his own knowledge.

Rather than criticise the rankings, I would be happy to see others also do rankings, which in years to come we can compare and reflect on.

I have never had a problem with the team projections, really thought that was pretty cool but when it lists individual players and prospects at that, its garbage, and can influence trades and prospect values.


I too am allowed my opinion, if we all are allowed to post our opinions. Why is my opinions crossed out and Dan's garbage isn't? If your going to take a stand on allowing opinions to be posted, then allow ALL opinions to be posted. EVEN OPIONIONS on the opinions, don't pick and choose which opinions are allowed.

Jermey Pena and Joe Ryan will be getting ROY votes, both who in Dan's opinions were shit when they were on my team. This shit is read by everyone and some idiots actually think Dan is a prospect guru, oddly in the last 12 ROYs since 2016, I have had 3 of them, but somehow get ranked terrible since can't get over his DFA manipulation gate.

Personally, I like seeing rankings, always nice to see what someone else thinks of my team.  Nothing to get emotional about, it's just numbers plugged into an Excel spreadsheet and an answer being spit out.  Fantasy sports, like real sports, are a crapshoot.  You don't know for sure what prospect is going to turn into a stud, just as real GM's don't know for sure.  You do your homework and hope you are correct.  But we all know "can't miss" prospects miss all the time.  Take these rankings for what they are, just a "forecast" based on numbers being plugged into a spreadsheet.  Have fun with it and see how accurate they turn out in the future.  I appreciate all the work that Dan puts into the rankings and welcome anyone else in the league to do rankings as well, for whatever they want to rank.  And I won't get emotional about them, because they are just numbers.
