2010-11 Offseason Schedule

Without further ado, here is the current plan for the offseason.

Wednesday, December 15 - Teams are required to update their roster, post their contact information, agree to the Constitution, post their free agents (including players who you expect to tag) to the following thread: pbfantasybaseball.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rosterstransactions&action=display&thread=2726&page=2, and to complete their team's page of the Google Doc.

Sunday, December 19 - Teams must pay the $20 fee for the 2011 season (division winners are exempt and I will open up a thread confirming who has paid). The Commissioner's Office will also finish reviewing the Google Doc spreadsheet.

Monday, December 20 - Trading will officially reopen. Teams CANNOT trade free agents unless they also trade one of their free agent tags and the team receiving the player and tag must use the tag on that player.

Sunday, December 26 - Teams must determine their franchise and restricted tag options. If the franchise contract is already known, please post that as well.

Monday, December 27 - Restricted free agency bidding will occur for this week, concluding on Friday, with announcements of winners that weekend. Teams will have 48 hours to determine if they will match the highest bid. Please refer to the rules on further specifics.

Monday, January 3 - Bidding on catchers and relievers will occur for this week.

Monday, January 10 - Bidding on middle infielders and corner infielders will occur this week.

Monday, January 17 - Bidding on starting pitchers will occur this week.

Monday, January 24 - Bidding on outfielders will occur this week.

Monday, January 31 - The Rookie Draft will begin. Teams will have 6 hours to make their selections. Regular free agency will also begin (any position).

Note that these dates are subject to change, but this is the current expectation. SO everybody, get to work!

any way we can push things around new years? RFA is awfully important and a lot of people, myself included, spend a good amount of time, going away, getting drunk for 72 hours straight, and celebrating

theres so much time this off-season, i don't see why we have to put things so close to christmas and new year's

That could be arranged. I'll look into moving everything back a week (starting with the Dec. 27 activity).

i dont get why rookie draft is happening after FA. FA is the start of the 2011 season. the rookie draft has players that weren't made available for teams from last year, like international signings. if you have FA before the rookie draft. you are eliminating the need for a rookie draft(which is based on last year's stats) if anything i would think that, the rookie draft should happen immediately after RFA.

I'm not sure I follow - minor leaguers who were either drafted in 2010 or signed internationally last year just wouldn't be allowed to be signed in free agency. I figure that once we start with FA with RFA, everybody would like to continue with that and then when those big weeks of FA end, we have the draft. We need to have RFA before the draft because draft picks will be moved around as a result of players signed.

i understand what you are talking about now. guys who were drafted last year and international FA are not eligible for FA. they can only be drafted. RFA, i do understand, needs to be first. thanks for clearing that up

*UPDATED* 2010-11 Offseason Schedule

Everybody, please look at this updated schedule of events. Because of Christmas and the New Year, several GMs have requested that we push things back a week. The Commissioner's Office has begun its review of the spreadsheet, but has yet to complete the job, so that's another reason for it being pushed back.

*Note: Not all tasks have been pushed back, so please review carefully.

Sunday, December 26 - At this time, the Commissioner's Office is expecting almost all preliminary activity to be completed:

• Updated Proboards Roster
  
• Updated CBS Roster
  
• Post your Contact Information here: pbfantasybaseball.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=contactinformation&action=display&thread=13
  
• Agree to the Constitution: pbfantasybaseball.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=leagueconstitution&action=display&thread=12
  
• Post ALL (including potential franchise and restricted) Free Agents: pbfantasybaseball.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rosterstransactions&action=display&thread=2726&page=2
  
• Update GOOGLE DOC SPREADSHEET with roster and contracts: spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AsL1BFdCIzyydDRUeV94Q0VXVXRIU2NzblJyZWZoZEE&hl=en#gid=2
  
• Post FRANCHISE and RESTRICTED tag decisions in the appropriate boards from the main forum page.

If you have not completed these tasks by this date, you will be asked to leave, and a replacement will be found.
