It was discovered that the Mets used a player from his exempt list to accumulate stats in match-ups last season. This is illegal. Everyone must be aware of who they have on the exempt list and make the appropriate posts to add a player to the 40 man before using him in match-ups. Since it appeared as an oversight (the Mets had plenty of extra spots on the 40 man); the commissioners office has decided to move the Mets 1st round pick back 10 spots as the only punishment. This should serve as a reminder that even though we try to track everyone's rosters, you are still responsible for your own and please try to follow the rules. This is a league wide warning. The next time an owner is caught using players that are on an exempt list in a match-up, the player in question will be made a free agent and the offending team will forfeit any match-up in which the player appeared.
Reminders:
You can have a player who is on the exempt roster and have stats. You just can’t use those stats in the game. And that player can stay on the exempt roster till the end of the year.
If any of your Franchise tagged or PP players agree to long term contract, or sign an extension prior to first pitch of the season, that will be their salary. (Check Cot's)
The posting window for all free agents starts each Monday at 2pm PST and ends at 11:59:59PM PST Wednesday each week.
If our draft ends 24 hours before or any time during a posting period, then MiLBers are not eligible to be posted until the next posting period.
If a player has appeared in the Majors they are no longer eligible for the exempt list.
We have changed the draft to 5 rounds and the roster exempt list now has 12 players maximum.
There are a few teams with salary cap adjustments due to last seasons real life debacle of having hearings during the season.
Salary Cap:
This season $145M. The salary cap will remain at $145 for the 2023-2026 seasons. The CO reserves the right to review this each off-season.
Minimum Salary:
The minimum salary for this season has been adjusted to $700k. It will remain $700k thru 2026. It will become $800k in 2027.
