2024 Preseason Power Rankings

Introduction: These power rankings are just basically trying to mirror the Roto standings you can find on Fantrax. Now, these won't entirely match up with the Playoff predictions for a number of reasons. First of those reasons are simply matchups - these roto rankings don't always show how well a team matches up with another one. Another reason is that it's easier to show up higher on a Roto ranking even though you're punting a stat or two than it is to win a head-to-head matchup when you're giving up a category or two or three per week. 

Like Fantrax, I rank each category, with the highest team in each receiving a 30 and the lowest team receiving a 1. Ties receive an average ranking between all the teams that tied. So the highest possible scores in either Hitting or Pitching would be 180 (6 categories worth 30 possible points each), and the lowest possible score is 6.

Something cool to note is that this is the most evenly spread out the power rankings have ever been. The Nationals of 2024 would rank as the #4 team in these rankings last year. In fact, this may be the first year since I started doing these that we don't have a team crack 300+ in the Roto Score category. The median team is one of the strongest in any year's that I can find.
