5 Bold Predictions for 2013

Every fantasy expert usually does a bold prediction piece prior to the yr. I thought it would be fun if we had one as well. Feel free to frame the prediction anyway you see fit it doesn't need to pertain to our league format.

Phillies Bold Predictions

1: Ike Davis will lead the NL in HR's

2: Rick Porcello posts a k rate over 7 per/9

3: Andrew McCutchen wins Nl MVP fueled by his RBI numbers but posts a lower WAR then Bryce Harper

4: The Yankees finish in last place in the Al East

5: Joe Mauer proves he's back all the way and wins his second Al MVP and 4th batting title. Making a run at .400 through July.

[White Sox GM (Aidan)]

1) Franklin Gutierrez manages to stay healthy all year and surpasses his 2009 WAR of 6.0

2) Chris Carter takes advantage of the short left field fence in Houston and a fluky HR/FB rate and hits 36 HR's.

3)The Angels, especially Josh Hamilton, disappoint fans with a 4th place finish in the AL West.

4) Jose Bautista manages to stay healthy for the entire season and hits 60 homers with an OBP over .450.

5) Every Nationals starting pitcher misses a portion of the season and they under perform their way out of the playoffs.

[Guardians GM (Matt)]

1. The Orioles make the playoffs again on the backs of a Manny Machado breakout and Bundy/Gausman dominant pitching down the stretch.

2. Bryce Harper puts up an MVP worth season, but fall just short when Joey Votto leads the Reds to the best record in the NL.

3. Yu Darvish strikes out over 250 batters and wins the AL Cy Young easily.

4. The Dodgers miss the playoffs after trading for Ryan Zimmerman (whose job is taken by Anthony Rendon while he is injured).

5. Ryan Howard hits 50 HRs but still has a WAR under 3.

[Cubs GM (Beau)]

1) The first divisional tie resulting in a play-in for the play-in comes from the NL Central. 4 of 5 teams go into last week within two games. Pittsburgh finishes above .500

2) Jay Bruce leads MLB in home runs with 46.

3) Zero teams from LA make the playoffs. Angels finish behind a surging Mariners.

4) Ichiro breaks the 200 hit mark for the first time in 3 years. 210+ gives him the room to reach 3000 in the last days of 2014.

5) Ben Revere hits exactly .300, scores exactly 100 runs and leads the NL in stolen bases with exactly 60.

1) Ervin Santana officially loses 20 games

2) Luke Hochaver, after giving up a HR in his very first relief appearance, will be with the Royals after Yost states "the hitter got lucky" and "he battled today" after he got out of the disaster with the past ball and out at home.

3) Royals lead the majors in worst batting average w/runners in scoring position.

4) Bryce Harper beats Mike Trout in all categories except SB's

5) Miami loses over 110 games.

Agreed! They're the worst team in that division, even if you squint and remember the Teix and Jeter (and ARod) of old.

I have faith or I would have left them a LONG time ago, lol....the flip side is:

(if I put the good stuff, nobody will trade any Royals to me, lol)

[Padres GM (Amy)]

1) Jose Valverde will end up with a significant role in the Tigers' pen.
2) The Mets will surprise people. Harvey and Niese will continue their growth, Wheeler will be up by the ASB and do what Harvey did last year. They will trade for an OF, maybe Soriano, in order to make a push but just miss the playoffs at the end.they will have a signifiantly better record than the yankees.
3) the AL east will end like this: Blue Jays Red Sox (wild card) Rays Yankees Orioles. the red sox pitching will be mightily improved, the yankees will stay injured and the rays will pitch but not hit. rodney will come down to earth and be a mediocre closer.
4) the pittsburgh pirates will not only finish above .500 but will clinch a wild card spot.
5) the blue jays will have a really unbalanced order. 1-4 will be great, but 5-9 will struggle mightily and they will be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs
