Firstly, let me state that this task was bigger than I initially thought.
I have used the following criteria for providing these power rankings.
I have used the following points allocation-
Batting - maximum of 40 points
Starting line-up players (as I see them, not necessarily as published on fantrax) were each rated out of 4 point each.
Bench batting was rated as a total out of 8, based on the number of positions that could be covered, and the quality of the coverage.
Pitching - maximum of 40 points
Best 5 starting pitchers (as i see them) were each rated out of 4 points each
Likelihood to receive enough saves to win category most weeks was rated out of 10 points.
Likelihood to receive enough holds to win category most weeks was rated out of 10 points.
The shortcomings of this measure was it disregarded any starting pitchers outside of the top 5 for each team. Although it could be argued that starting pitchers numbers 6,7,8, etc may hurt in terms of ERA and WHIP, but would certainly help in the counting stats of strike-out and wins.
The way I will list the results is the total points out of 80, then the batting + the pitching scores (both out of 40 points).
1. WAS - 70 = 36+34 (3rd)
1. NYY - 70 = 32+38 (1st)
3. TEX - 68 = 34+34 (5th)
4. CHC - 66 = 30+36 (5th)
