As always, small sample size. Though Mike, I'm still mystified as to why you seem to think Carpenter is going to hit home runs when he has never shown the ability to do so.

lol, an update, you didn't have the balls to bet.....unless you want to still bet on records from next monday til the end of the season...let me know, will be here and ready to go when you are.
also....anyone know who has the highest batting average in the Cardinals lineup right now? lol
don't worry, this will get better...for me anyway.
W. Merrifield, N Lopez, A. Benintendi, A. Mondesi (TBD), S. Perez, C Santana, H.Dozier, M.Taylor,
Also 6 hr in 340 abs works out to about 10 over 600 abs his rookie year...
The best part....6'3' 215 lbs and has always made great contact at any level he has played....and now the magical 27 yrs old......guess we will see if the numbers and factors equal the answer over the next two years.

Yadi has the highest BA on the Cards, I'm pretty sure.
Your team really shit the bed this week, that's all I'm saying.
8 RBI, 9 runs, sub .700 OPS. 0 SV, 1 HLD. What a masterpiece.

What does contact have to do with HRs? Also, "magical 27 yrs old"...lmao. And, like all your posts, those numbers are unintelligible.

and A's, If I could make a dominating team in the FIRST season, then everyone in this league would suck. Not everyone in this league sucks....lol, yes, be scared, I will win soon enough and then you can pout and quit then.
Until then, enjoy yourself getting a few wins, maybe you will even be .500 by seasons end....maybe even a better record than me, this season....it will end up the same it does in every league I get in...I will win it soon enough.
There is a difference in talkin smack, when you can back it up...
If you don't understand why contact rates are important, your right, this league is too complicated for me.
I don't bet but I just wanted to get in on the conversation. I think with 600 at-bats Carpenter could hit 11 or more but I think we see Kolten Wong at some point and that will hurt Carp's at-bat total.

it doesn't mean anything, it was just a joke/sarasm...
You do have a point about Wong taking away AB's, if they call him up...
If Carp plays good defense and hits, they won't pull him up though. Carp has the body, the good contact rates and the power to be a 20 hr guy in the majors...at any positions other than catcher...if Brandon Inge can do it with his terrible contact rate, Carpenter will do it many times more than 1 year.
Will update again in another 80 abs and unless Wong tears it up in the minors this year, he won't be up til september.
Names Currently Carpenter is scoring higher than... Phillips Escobar Altuve Andrus Castro A Ramirez Gyorko A Cabrera Ackley Weeks Infante Hardy Walker Uggla to name a few.
one bonus one is J Smoak
Not even going to list all the "Aces" above Medlen...list is too large.

Promised you an update...that would be HR number FOUR.
Matt Carpenter - score 1420, 204 ab, 43 r, 4 hr, 19 rbi, 0 sbs, .309 average and now eligible at CI, MI and OF...and yes Ranked #6 2B, #10 MI, #21 CI, #30 OF
Kris Medlen - score 1105, 11 starts, 1 win, 6 losses, 65 inn, 48 k, 24 walks, 3.48 era, 1.361 whip (on pace for about a 3-18 season, just FYI) (if anyone wants to trade me ANYTHING close to what I gave up for him, I am all ears....)
let me know if anyone wants me to use the numbers to show how I would have had more wins with Carpenter in the lineup over Medlen.

I don't know if he'll hit the HR's or not.
I do know that I'm also in a 10 team mixed league and lost both Reyes and Aaron Hill. Carpenter was the best I could do off of Waivers for MI and he's been excellent. He is currently outperforming many highly prized MI. In a deep league like this? Stellar pickup.
On the other hand, you may have swung and missed on a few. Is there a K rating for free agency? If there was I'd equate you to one of my players, Mark Reynolds. Not a bad thing he's got going on so no offense intended.

"With another two hits and a homer Thursday, the Cardinals' Matt Carpenter now ranks second among all second basemen in standard Head-to-Head leagues, ahead of consensus first-rounder Robinson Cano. He's batting .446 with a 1.160 OPS during a 15-game hitting streak and .335 with a .908 OPS overall."
1648 pts in fantrax 311 abs 100 hits - on pace for a 200 hit season .322 ave - yeah, this guy doesn't have a good "contact rate" 60 runs - on pace for 120 runs 7 hrs - I risk it and still say that he will hit over 10 hrs, again 32 rbis - someone might have been right, won't get over 60 rbis 1 sb - everyone has a weakness, he actually exceeded Zero. 8th ranked MI 14th ranked CI 18th ranked OF 1st ranked player who qualifies for all 3 positions.
I did believe he would be good and great as a 2b, even last year, but the only thing that shocked me was getting CI/OF qualified after he started hot at 2b, batting leadoff and well that 1 SB.
Thank you for all of the new 2013 owners who were in agreement and supportive since the trade was made. As well as with the Miggy trade. Open minds make a world of difference.
This point is definately nailed to the coffin.
